Role Description The Head of Engineering for Canada Opportunities is a full-time, on-site role based in Canada. This role is responsible for leading and scaling engineering initiatives that support Esse India’s digital platforms and technology solutions for immigration and visa consulting services. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing software development projects, managing engineering teams, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality technical solutions, and collaborating with product, operations, and business stakeholders to align engineering outcomes with organizational goals. The Head of Engineering will set technical direction, define standards and best practices, manage project timelines and budgets, and mentor team members to foster continuous improvement and innovation. This role also involves evaluating new technologies, ensuring system reliability and security, and contributing to strategic planning for technology-driven growth.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Team Management and Team Leadership skills to guide, motivate, and develop engineering teams.
- Candidates should possess solid Engineering Management and Project Management skills to plan, execute, and deliver complex technical initiatives.
- Candidates should possess hands-on Software Development skills, with experience in modern technologies, architectures, and best practices.
- Candidates should have excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant experience leading engineering functions in product or service-oriented organizations; background in tech-enabled consulting or professional services is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven track record in building scalable systems, ensuring quality, security, and performance, and implementing engineering processes and metrics.
- Ability to operate strategically while remaining comfortable with hands-on technical involvement as needed.
