Freelance Mechanical Engineer – Motorized Valve & Actuator
Engagement: Freelance
Project: Motorized Water Valve Actuator (1”–4”)
We are looking for a Mechanical/Product Design Engineer with 5+ years of experience to develop a motorized water valve actuator for agriculture and outdoor water automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design actuator mechanisms for 1”–4” water valves
- Motor & gearbox selection with torque and gear-ratio calculations
- Design mechanical components, couplers, end stops & manual override
- Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, drawings and BOM
- Design for outdoor/water exposure and manufacturability
- Support prototype development, testing and design improvements
- Take the product from concept → CAD → prototype → manufacturing-ready design
Requirements:
- 5+ years of mechanical/product design experience
- Strong SolidWorks / Fusion 360 / Creo / Inventor skills
- Experience with motors, gearboxes and mechanical mechanisms
- Knowledge of DFM/DFA and manufacturing processes
- Strong engineering calculation and problem-solving skills
- Experience taking products from CAD to physical prototype
Preferred: Experience with motorized valves, actuators, gearboxes, water/agri automation or industrial automation.
