About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated Backend Development Lead with strong expertise in Node.js to join our engineering team. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you’ll design and build scalable backend systems, architect APIs, and drive engineering best practices while working closely with product, AI, and frontend teams.

Key Responsibilities
· Design and build scalable backend services using Node.js and Express.js.
· Architect secure, high-performance RESTful APIs for enterprise SaaS applications.
· Design scalable software architecture and drive technical decisions.
· Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
· Design efficient MongoDB schemas and optimize database performance.
· Integrate third-party APIs and cloud services.
· Lead backend code reviews and mentor junior developers.
· Work closely with frontend, AI, QA, and Product teams to deliver high-quality features.
· Participate in deployment, monitoring, and production support.
· Drive engineering best practices, documentation, testing, and code quality.
Required Skills
· 4–6 years of hands-on backend development experience.
· Expert-level proficiency in Node.js and Express.js.
· Strong experience designing and building REST APIs.
· Deep understanding of asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and backend performance optimization.
· Strong knowledge of MongoDB, indexing, aggregation, and schema design.
· Good understanding of software architecture and scalable distributed systems.
· Experience with authentication, authorization, JWT, OAuth, and API security.
· Experience with Git, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
· Experience deploying applications on Azure, AWS, or GCP.
· Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Good to Have
· Working knowledge of React.js.
· Experience with Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar technologies.
· Experience building AI or LLM-powered applications.
· Experience with Kubernetes and containerized deployments.
· Familiarity with TypeScript and automated testing frameworks.
Startup Experience (Mandatory)Candidates should have prior experience working in a product startup and be comfortable taking complete ownership of backend systems, working in a fast-paced environment, and building scalable products with minimal supervision.
