About The Role
WorldWide Technology Holding Co, LLC. (WWT) is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead / Subject Matter Expert (SME) Network Engineer for a remote, long-term contract position. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex network projects, leading technical teams and engaging with global stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing network infrastructure solutions that align with business objectives, ensuring seamless integration and operational excellence. As a senior technical leader, you will guide project delivery, develop architectural standards, and contribute to strategic initiatives, playing a pivotal role in the success of large-scale transformational programs.
Qualifications
The candidate should possess over 10 years of demonstrated experience in leading, designing, and implementing complex network solutions within regulated industries or large enterprise environments. Proven experience as a Lead Engineer on multifaceted programs, with the ability to guide teams and communicate progress effectively to senior leadership, is essential. Certifications such as Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Enterprise, FortiGate Professional, or F5 LTM/GTM at Certified Technical Specialist level are highly advantageous. A strong technical foundation in networking technologies, combined with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, is required. The ability to consolidate knowledge from multiple sources into comprehensive end-to-end solutions and manage workloads proactively is critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert in two or more network technologies, with a working knowledge of additional network disciplines used by the organization.
- Scope, plan, and lead the execution of large transformational network programs and initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
- Design, build, and deploy scalable and secure network infrastructure solutions that meet business requirements and adhere to architectural guidelines.
- Develop detailed low-level designs and supporting documentation to facilitate implementation and operational support.
- Coordinate with global support teams to ensure smooth transition of solutions into operational environments.
- Maintain compliance with governance, change management, and audit standards across all network activities.
- Engage with internal stakeholders and external vendors to align project objectives and resolve technical challenges promptly.
- Provide accurate workload estimates and delivery timelines, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues efficiently.
- Make informed decisions throughout project lifecycles to enhance delivery quality and mitigate risks.
- Ensure all activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal risk management frameworks.
