The Opportunity
RediMinds is looking for an experienced Technical Operations Manager to help build an exceptional engineering organization in India.
Our engineering team is sharp, ambitious and highly capable. Many joined RediMinds early in their careers and have grown rapidly with the company. We are now looking for an experienced engineering leader who can work closely alongside them, bringing the practices, judgment and standards that come from having built and operated multiple complex engineering systems before.
You will partner closely with our Director of Engineering to strengthen engineering quality, reliability and operating discipline across all of our engineering teams and be the go-to resource for our engineers. You will mentor engineers, help solve difficult technical problems, improve development and production practices, and help the team understand what world-class engineering looks like in practice.
The goal is not to create more process. It is to build trust and help an already talented team become an exceptional one.
This role is based in Gurugram, India and we expect the Technical Operations Manager to work from our Gurugram office at least three days per week, providing engineers with accessible, day-to-day technical leadership, mentorship and support.
Raise the engineering bar
- Bring proven engineering practices from high-quality SaaS and technology environments to strengthen architecture, code quality, testing, deployment, reliability, observability, and maintainability.
- Review technical approaches and guide engineers toward sound design and implementation decisions.
- Identify recurring engineering gaps, address root causes, and establish practical standards that improve quality without slowing delivery.
Mentor and develop engineers
- Provide hands-on technical mentorship and help engineers strengthen judgment, problem-solving, and engineering discipline.
- Use code reviews, architecture discussions, incident reviews, and day-to-day problem-solving as learning opportunities.
- Help engineers understand both what to do and why, while building ownership and confidence rather than dependency.
- Identify individual development opportunities and support engineers in progressing to the next level of their careers.
Strengthen technical operations
- Improve the reliability and operational maturity of RediMinds’ production systems by strengthening deployments, monitoring, observability, incident response, root-cause analysis, change management, disaster recovery, and production support practices.
- Establish meaningful service-level indicators, reliability metrics, and operational health measures, while ensuring incidents drive learning and systemic improvement. Increase automation and reduce avoidable manual operational work.
- Strengthen CI/CD, automated testing, release practices, and engineering discipline across development, testing, staging, and production environments. Promote smaller, safer, and more frequent releases while identifying opportunities to increase development velocity without compromising quality.
Support difficult technical problems
- Serve as a senior technical resource for engineers, helping teams systematically diagnose complex systems, architecture, and production challenges and arrive at sound, practical solutions.
- Facilitate technical decision-making across competing approaches and trade-offs, stepping into critical situations when needed while enabling teams to build the skills and confidence to solve similar problems independently in the future.
Build an engineering culture of excellence
- Foster a culture where engineers take pride in the quality, reliability, and elegance of what they build, while promoting strong ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Encourage thoughtful experimentation and adoption of modern engineering tools and practices, including AI-assisted software development, while helping teams learn from incidents, projects, and one another.
- Make engineering excellence a visible, everyday part of how teams work—not simply a set of documented standards—by embedding quality, learning, and continuous improvement into engineering practices.
What Success Looks Like
During your first 12–18 months, we would expect you to:
- Establish strong working relationships and credibility with the India engineering team while helping engineers demonstrate stronger technical judgment, ownership, and independence.
- Establish and consistently apply higher standards for engineering quality, production readiness, development, testing, deployment, CI/CD, release management, and operational practices.
- Improve system reliability, observability, and production health by reducing recurring incidents and establishing effective incident review, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement practices.
- Create scalable, repeatable engineering practices and develop technical leaders within the team, resulting in a visible improvement in the quality, consistency, and overall maturity of engineering output beyond your direct involvement.
The Person We Are Looking For
- You are an experienced engineer and technical leader who has seen what excellent software engineering looks like and knows how to help teams achieve it. You have worked in mature SaaS or technology environments where reliability, code quality, testing, observability, automation, and disciplined production operations were core expectations—and you have personally built and operated systems where these practices mattered.
- You are still deeply technical and enjoy reviewing architecture, debugging difficult problems, examining incidents and deployment processes, and working directly with engineers to find better solutions. At the same time, you are a teacher who develops others rather than simply solving problems for them.
- You lead with a high bar and low ego. You ask thoughtful questions, explain your reasoning, challenge constructively, and help engineers develop the judgment, ownership, and confidence to solve increasingly difficult problems independently—creating an environment where people are motivated to reach that high standard.
Required Experience
- 9+ years of software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, or related technical experience, ideally in SaaS or product technology environments, with several years of technical leadership or mentorship experience.
- Strong hands-on experience building and operating scalable cloud-based SaaS platforms, with deep knowledge of at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, along with CI/CD, infrastructure automation, monitoring, observability, reliability, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
- Proven ability to improve engineering practices across testing, deployments, code review, release management, and production operations; review technical designs, identify risks and weaknesses, and drive simpler, more reliable solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and elevate team capabilities, with strong written and verbal communication skills and a practical, low-ego leadership style that remains hands-on when needed.
Especially Valuable
Experience with any of the following would be particularly valuable:
· Healthcare technology or other highly regulated technology environments.
· High-volume SaaS platforms where reliability and data integrity are critical.
· Security and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, HITRUST, ISO 27001, NIST or FedRAMP.
· Kubernetes, containers and infrastructure as code.
· Modern observability and SRE practices.
· Automated QA and testing frameworks.
· AI-assisted software development and agentic engineering tools.
· Supporting distributed engineering teams across India and the United States.
· Building or significantly improving engineering practices in a fast-growing company.
· Developing talented early-career engineers into strong senior engineers and technical leaders.
Leadership Style
We are looking for someone who:
· Leads through technical credibility rather than title.
· Sets a high bar and helps people understand how to reach it.
· Coaches rather than simply fixes.
· Is comfortable getting into the details.
· Creates clarity and structure without unnecessary bureaucracy.
· Looks for root causes rather than patches.
· Believes automation is better than repeated manual work.
· Treats incidents and mistakes as opportunities to improve systems and capability.
· Gives clear, constructive feedback.
· Takes pride in building excellent engineers as well as excellent technology.
