About the Role
We are looking for an Engineer + MBA (Finance) who combines strong investment understanding with hands-on technical capabilities. You will work directly with a small investment desk to build research infrastructure, automate investment research, structure financial data, and support investment decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a structured database covering companies, financials, peers, ownership and research notes.
- Automate ingestion and analysis of annual reports, results, investor presentations, transcripts and market/industry data.
- Standardise financial data, peer comparisons, segment information and historical financials.
- Build tools and pipelines to extract, structure and summarise investment-relevant information.
- Map industry value chains, suppliers, customers, pricing, margins and dependencies.
- Track investment theses, expected drivers, outcomes and reasons behind successful/unsuccessful calls.
- Establish data definitions, validation checks and accuracy standards.
- Use AI/LLM tools responsibly for research automation while ensuring human verification of critical data.
- Maintain a secure, reliable and scalable research infrastructure.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- MBA/PGDM in Finance is mandatory.
- 2–4 years of experience in investment banking, equity research, asset/fund management, wealth management, private banking or a family office.
- Strong exposure to HNI/UHNI/family capital is preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation, peer analysis, working capital, margins and investment theses.
- Hands-on proficiency in Python, SQL, data modelling, APIs/scraping and data pipelines.
- Experience with LLM/AI-based extraction and summarisation tools.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Evidence of having personally built a technical tool, model, pipeline or research system that was actually used.
