Role Description The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing site activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with approved quality standards. The role requires strong technical expertise in structural steel projects, design interpretation, site execution, manpower management, and coordination with internal teams and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
* Report directly to the General Manager on project progress, milestones, risks, and resource requirements.
* Manage day-to-day site execution activities and ensure adherence to project schedules.
* Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil teams to ensure smooth execution of project activities.
* Review and interpret structural and engineering drawings and provide technical guidance during execution.
* Possess sound knowledge of structural steel fabrication and erection methodologies.
* Ensure all mechanical and electrical installation activities are carried out as per approved drawings and specifications.
* Coordinate with the design team to resolve site-related design issues and implement engineering changes.
* Plan, allocate, and supervise manpower, subcontractors, and site resources effectively.
* Monitor material availability, equipment utilization, and site productivity.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company procedures.
* Conduct regular site inspections and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
* Liaise with clients, consultants, vendors, and contractors for project coordination.
* Identify project risks and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
* Ensure timely completion of projects within the approved budget and quality parameters.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Structural Engineering.
* 8–9 years of relevant experience in structural steel, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
* Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles and project execution.
* Ability to read and interpret structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
* Experience in manpower planning and supervision.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office; knowledge of project planning software (MS Project or Primavera) is an added advantage.
* Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
