About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Development Manager to lead engineering teams and drive the successful delivery of enterprise software and AI-powered solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in engineering delivery, technical project management, resource planning, stakeholder management, and project financials. This role is best suited for professionals currently working as a Development Manager or a highly technical Project Manager within a service-based organization, with a passion for building scalable cloud and AI-driven applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of enterprise software and AI-enabled projects.
- Manage cross-functional engineering teams across Backend, Frontend, AI/ML, QA, DevOps, and Cloud.
- Own resource planning, allocation, utilization, and capacity management.
- Manage project budgets, forecasting, financial planning, and delivery governance.
- Drive product roadmaps, sprint planning, release planning, and delivery milestones.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely and high-quality project execution.
- Collaborate with AI Engineers, Data Scientists, and Solution Architects to deliver Generative AI, Agentic AI, LLM, RAG, and AI automation solutions.
- Oversee AI application architecture, API integrations, cloud deployments, and MLOps-driven delivery.
- Monitor project health, KPIs, risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies.
- Build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders while managing escalations and expectations.
- Mentor engineering leads and development teams, fostering technical excellence and collaboration.
Required Skills
- 7–10 years of experience in Software Development, Engineering Management, or Technical Project Management.
- Currently working as a Development Manager or highly technical Project Manager in a service-based organization.
- Strong expertise in resource management, allocation, utilization, and capacity planning.
- Experience managing project budgets, financial planning, and delivery governance.
- Hands-on experience in Agile delivery, sprint planning, product planning, and release management.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, REST APIs, microservices, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Good understanding of Generative AI, Agentic AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI Agents, Prompt Engineering, and AI application delivery.
- Experience coordinating AI engineering teams and delivering AI-powered enterprise applications.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, client communication, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience delivering AI, GenAI, Agentic AI, or Machine Learning-based enterprise applications.
- Familiarity with AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar technologies.
- Exposure to Vector Databases and AI APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google Gemini.
- Experience with cloud AI services and MLOps workflows.
- Experience managing distributed engineering teams and global client engagements.
- Strong understanding of engineering metrics, delivery optimization, and scalable enterprise architectures.
