Role Description The Senior Structural Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad. This position is responsible for developing and reviewing detailed structural designs and construction drawings for steel and concrete structures, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. Day-to-day tasks include creating and modifying CAD models and drawings, coordinating with civil and structural engineers, and resolving design issues during planning and execution. The Senior Structural Designer will collaborate with project managers and site teams to provide technical support, optimize designs for constructability, and maintain documentation accuracy. The role also involves mentoring junior designers, performing quality checks on design deliverables, and contributing to continuous improvement of design practices and workflows.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Structural Engineering and Civil Engineering, with the ability to apply relevant codes, standards, and design principles.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for producing and revising detailed structural drawings and models.
- Experience preparing and interpreting Construction Drawings for buildings, industrial structures, and infrastructure projects.
- Practical knowledge of Steel Design, including member sizing, connections, and detailing for fabrication and erection.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Several years of experience in structural design within construction or infrastructure projects, preferably in a similar senior role.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, communicate technical information clearly, and manage multiple design tasks within deadlines.
- Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, familiarity with relevant design software and MS Office, and commitment to safety and quality standards.
