Role: Chief of Staff to the CTO
Location: Bengaluru
Reporting to: Chief Technology Officer
Role Purpose
The Chief of Staff to the CTO will act as a strategic and operational partner to the CTO, enabling sharper focus on the highestpriority technology, business, regulatory, and organizational outcomes. This role will serve as a force multiplier for the CTO office by translating priorities into execution plans, strengthening governance and operating cadence, driving cross-functional alignment, improving visibility into risks and dependencies, and ensuring disciplined follow-through on critical decisions.
Given Angel One’s scale and fintech context, the role requires strong technology fluency, executive maturity, financial discipline, risk awareness, and the ability to operate effectively in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Partner with the CTO to translate strategic technology and business priorities into clear execution plans, milestones, ownership,metrics, and review mechanisms.
• Drive planning and execution across key product, engineering, platform, data, infrastructure, security, and technology transformation initiatives.
• Run the operating cadence for the CTO office, including leadership reviews, planning forums, CXO updates, board preparation, action tracking, and decision follow-through.
• Provide visibility into progress, risks, dependencies, and blockers across high-priority initiatives, & proactively drive issue resolution.
• Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Data, Security, Operations, Finance, HR, Compliance, Risk, and Business teams to ensure alignment and execution rigor.
• Partner with Finance and technology leaders on budget planning, cost tracking, vendor governance, cloud/infrastructure spend,headcount planning, and investment trade-offs.
• Support org design and staffing decisions by identifying capability gaps, structure options, role clarity issues, leadership bandwidth constraints, and hiring priorities.
• Support compliance, audit, regulatory, risk, and policy-related programs by ensuring strong documentation, control discipline, ownership, and follow-through.
• Identify technology, delivery, operational, security, compliance, vendor, and people risks early, and escalate with the right context, options, and mitigation plans.
• Prepare high-quality executive and board-level materials, including review decks, decision notes, operating updates,dashboards, risk summaries, and progress reports.
• Act as a trusted sounding board to the CTO on priorities, trade-offs, escalations, stakeholder alignment, and organizational effectiveness.
• Handle sensitive information, leadership discussions, people matters, and strategic decisions with discretion, maturity, and strong judgment.
Candidate Profile
Experience and Qualifications
• 12+ years of experience across strategy, program management, business management, consulting, technology leadership, or Chief of Staff / business operations roles.
• Strong experience working with large technology organizations, preferably in fintech, financial services, internet, product-led, or high-scale digital environments.
• Experience working closely with CXO-level leaders or senior technology leadership teams.
• Proven ability to drive complex cross-functional programs from planning through execution in fast-paced and ambiguous environments.
• Strong understanding of technology operating models, product-engineering ways of working, delivery governance, platform priorities, and business-technology dependencies.
• Exposure to regulated environments, audit readiness, compliance governance, risk management, or control-oriented operating models is strongly preferred.
• Strong business and financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, resource planning, vendor governance, investment tracking, and performance metrics.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in business, technology or related field preferred.

• Compliance and regulatory fluency: Understanding of controls, approvals, documentation, audit readiness, evidence, and regulatory expectations in a fintech environment.
• Risk identification and escalation: Ability to identify material risks early and escalate with severity, ownership, mitigation actions, and timelines.
• Org design and staffing support: Ability to support workforce planning, capability assessment, headcount prioritization, role clarity, spans and layers, and leadership bandwidth planning.
• Executive maturity and confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion, composure, professionalism, and judgment.
• Ownership and bias for action: Strong follow-through, accountability, and ability to operate independently with limited handholding.
