Job Role: Product Development Specialist – Soap Category
Responsible for leading end-to-end product development and innovation within the soap category, from concept creation to commercial launch. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams including Brand Management, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Fragrance Houses, and Global stakeholders to develop high-quality, compliant, and market-ready products.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Development & Innovation
- Lead formulation development for new soap products from concept to commercialization.
- Redesign and optimize formulations to meet product performance, cost, and quality requirements.
- Drive innovation initiatives aligned with brand strategy and market trends.
2. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Brand Management to translate product briefs into viable formulations.
- Work closely with supply teams to identify and qualify alternate raw material suppliers.
- Collaborate with global teams to resolve formulation-related queries and ensure knowledge alignment.
- Coordinate with fragrance houses for perfume selection and development.
3. Project Management
- Plan, track, and manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure on-time product launches.
- Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies during development phases.
4. Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure all formulations meet regulatory and safety standards.
- Prepare and maintain product dossiers for manufacturing plants and third-party clients.
- Provide necessary documentation to support product claims and compliance requirements.
5. Product Evaluation & Optimization
- Evaluate sensorial attributes (fragrance, texture, appearance) of soap samples.
- Optimize formulations based on performance testing, consumer insights, and feedback.
6. Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Develop comprehensive documentation including formulation records, technical data, and claim substantiation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date product development records.
