Role Description The Software Engineer in Test is a full-time remote role responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products through robust test design and execution. Day-to-day activities include developing and maintaining automated test frameworks, writing test cases for back-end services and APIs, and collaborating with software developers to identify and resolve defects. The role involves participating in code reviews from a testability perspective, implementing continuous integration test pipelines, and monitoring test results to improve coverage and performance. The Software Engineer in Test also helps define quality standards, contributes to documentation, and works closely with cross-functional teams to support scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software design principles.
- Experience with Software Development and Programming in one or more languages commonly used for test automation (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar).
- Proficiency in Back-End Web Development, including testing APIs, microservices, and database interactions.
- Practical knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and their application in designing test frameworks.
- Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, JUnit, TestNG, or similar).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integration of tests into build and deployment processes.
- Understanding of software testing methodologies (unit, integration, system, regression, performance, and security testing).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, collaborate effectively with distributed teams, and communicate clearly in written and spoken English.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and testing cloud-native applications is a plus.
