Role Description This is a full-time remote role for an Experienced After Effects + GeoLayers 3 Editor focused on creating historical map videos. The editor will design and animate map-based sequences using Adobe After Effects and GeoLayers 3, including timelines, movements of borders, routes, and other historical visualizations. Day-to-day tasks include setting up project templates, importing and organizing assets, creating motion graphics and overlays, and ensuring accurate geographic representation in all visuals. The role also involves collaborating with scriptwriters and researchers to translate historical narratives into clear, engaging visual stories, refining edits based on feedback, and preparing final outputs optimized for various digital platforms. The editor will maintain consistent visual quality, color grading, and branding across projects while meeting production timelines.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Video Editing and Video Production, with experience handling end-to-end workflow from raw assets to final delivery.
- Candidates should possess expertise in Motion Graphics and Graphics, particularly within Adobe After Effects for map-based and educational visual storytelling.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in Video Color Grading, with the ability to maintain consistent visual tone and enhance clarity in historical and geographic content.
- Advanced experience with GeoLayers 3 in After Effects, including working with geographic data, map styles, and animated routes and boundaries.
- Solid understanding of historical or educational content production, with attention to accuracy and clarity in visual explanations.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (especially After Effects; Premiere Pro or similar tools are a plus).
- 2–4 years of relevant professional experience in motion graphics or map-based video editing; a portfolio showcasing similar work is required.
