We are looking for a detail-oriented Wiring Harness Application Specialist to support customer applications, engineering activities, and product development for custom wire harness and cable assembly solutions.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Wiring Harness Application Specialist in Coimbatore. You will collaborate with customers, Sales, Engineering, Program Management, and Manufacturing teams to understand application requirements, develop technical solutions, and ensure successful product implementation from concept through production.
You will:
- Analyze customer requirements and recommend suitable wiring harness and cable assembly solutions.
- Review customer drawings, specifications, BOMs, and technical documentation.
- Support RFQs by preparing technical feasibility studies and cost inputs.
- Coordinate with Engineering and Program Management during new product development and product launches.
- Develop and maintain product documentation, engineering changes, and application records.
- Support prototype builds, validation testing, PPAP, and production releases.
- Work closely with Manufacturing to resolve technical issues and improve product quality.
- Provide technical support to customers regarding wiring harness applications and product performance.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications and industry standards.
- Participate in design reviews, customer meetings, and technical discussions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, cost, and manufacturing efficiency.
You have:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
- 5–7 years of experience in Wiring Harness, Cable Assembly, Automotive, EMS, Industrial Automation, or Electrical Manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of wiring harness design, electrical schematics, connectors, terminals, cables, and BOM structures.
- Experience with engineering drawings, ECNs/ECRs, and product lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards is preferred.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical, EPLAN, Capital, or similar design software is an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
Additional Requirements:
- Willing to work from the office.
- Shift Timing: 03:00 PM – 01:00 AM IST.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong customer service and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proactive attitude with excellent attention to detail.
- Willingness to support global customers and engineering teams.
