About The Role
Splunk is hiring a
Software Engineer to join its Cloud License Reporting team. This team is at the heart of creating and maintaining the tools and experiences that allow Splunk Cloud Administrators to visualize and manage their license usage effectively. You’ll play a critical role in shaping the user-facing features that help demonstrate the value of Splunk’s platform.
In this role, you will work closely with designers, product owners, and other developers to build interactive and reliable user interfaces using React and Python. You'll also develop internal tools to support license data tracking and reporting. The position includes maintaining high code quality through testing, participating in code reviews, and contributing to design discussions.
Responsibilities
- Develop modern and responsive UI components using React across multiple Splunk applications.
- Break down and implement complex features and requirements.
- Design, build, and maintain robust test suites with tools such as Cypress.
- Collaborate with UX and product teams to deliver thoughtful and intuitive user experiences.
- Participate in team code reviews, design sessions, and planning discussions.
- Operate in a CI/CD development environment and participate in on-call support rotation.
- Interact with both internal stakeholders and customers to gather feedback and iterate on product features.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and React.
- Solid Python development experience.
- Skilled with testing frameworks such as Cypress.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, gRPC, or similar technologies.
- Experience in cloud-based development and CI/CD environments.
- Working knowledge of major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Background in building customer-facing products.
- Experience with Splunk software or similar observability/security platforms.
Compensation & Benefits
The base salary for this position varies by location and experience:
- San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle Metro, NYC Metro: $146,400 - $201,300/year
- California (non-Bay), Washington (non-Seattle), DC Metro, Massachusetts: $131,760 - $181,170/year
- All other regions: $117,120 - $161,040/year
