About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Protection Engineer to join our Data Protection team. This full-time position offers flexibility to work from our Dublin center or remotely. The successful candidate will play a vital role in designing, supporting, and advancing data protection technologies across the organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security controls, support GCP Big Query initiatives, and contribute to our Data Protection road map. Your expertise will help ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of sensitive data, aligning with industry best practices and organizational priorities. This role requires a proactive approach to incident response, threat management, and the development of security policies, fostering a strong security culture within the company.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 6-8 years of experience working with data protection technologies
  • Prior experience with industry tools such as CASB and email encryption technologies
  • Experience configuring and leveraging GCP-native security controls
  • Proficiency in query development and understanding of SIEM solutions
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust principles and best practices related to data security
  • Experience with XSOAR solutions for event and incident remediation
  • Understanding of data protection processes for both in-motion and at-rest data detection
  • Industry-recognized security certifications such as CISSP, CSSLP, CISM, CCSP, GSLC, GSEC, CISA, or SSCP (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing and supporting advancements in data protection technology
  • Support GCP Big Query initiatives, including scan configurations and reporting
  • Manage policies and configurations for data protection rule sets according to program requirements and leadership directives
  • Drive CASB integrations and enhance company data at rest initiatives across relevant environments and applications
  • Partner with managers and technical leads to provide security expertise across corporate, market, and IT teams
  • Implement and monitor Data Loss Prevention (DLP) security controls, supporting M&A activities and Zero Trust strategies
  • Define and execute security controls aligned with the Data Protection road map
  • Collaborate with Data Governance, Security, and Business Units to promote a security-conscious culture
  • Participate in daily DLP event remediation activities and automate detection processes in collaboration with security analysts
  • Contribute to the development and update of corporate security policies
  • Support proof-of-concept efforts for new security technologies and solutions
