About the role

SUMMARY:

This is a non-exempt hourly position in the Accounting Department.  The main responsibility of this position is to apply incoming payments to our customer’s accounts quickly and accurately.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years’ experience in the cash application field or bank lockbox department

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

  • Strong data entry and computer skills
  • 10-key by touch
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Organizational skills are a must to deal with high volume of payments
  • Ability to problem solve effectively
  • Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Oracle Cloud
  • General office skills including, but not limited to, attention to detail, thoroughness, organization, customer service skills, high volume of data entry, general math skills, PC Proficiency
  • Dependability

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Apply high volume of lockbox payments and live checks to customer accounts on a daily basis
  • Process live check deposits via remote deposit scanner as needed
  • Run prior day banking activity reports each morning to post all incoming electronic payments
  • Scan and save all electronic and store deposit batches for future reference and legal requirements
  • Responsible for posting all cash and adjustment batches no later than days end
  • Save all cash and adjustment batches no later than days end
  • Provide all required reporting and daily totals to AP/Cash Lead at day end
  • Store/save all posted payments securely according to the accounting policy and legal requirements
  • Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed

OTHER DUTIES:

  • Other general accounting tasks assigned by Manager.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to efficiently use a personal computer equipped with standard keyboard and mouse
  • Ability to communicate in English with employees
  • Regularly sit, stand, walk, stop, kneel and crouch
  • Lift, lower, carry items up to 50 lbs.
