Scope of Position: Collaborate with the Operations team to create, implement, and evaluate year-round and summer operational systems, processes, and strategies in order to create an excellent camp experience for all participants. Provides logistical support to the full-time team. Serve as a member of the Summer Leadership Team at one summer camp location. Provides leadership to the logistics team at one summer camp location.  

 

Reports to: Team Leader, Camps Operations

Responsibilities:
  • Serves as a member of the Summer Leadership Team at one WinShape Camps for Boys location.  
  • Creates, implement, and evaluate operational systems and processes focused on, but not limited to, inventory management, pre- and post-summer campus transition, year-round project management, opening and closing day logistics, day-to-day camp operations, and procurement of equipment. 
  • Develops, implement, and uphold a summer campus emergency action plan to ensure the safety of all participants and staff. 
  • Collaborates with camp location food service provider to develop the camp menu, ensure safety of participants with dietary restrictions, and create an enjoyable experience in the dining facility. 
  • Serves as a collaborative member of a Summer Leadership Team to provide input on camp-specific logistics and make decisions that positively impact campers, families, and summer staff at one camp location. 
  • Serves as the primary contact for your WinShape Camps for Boys location partner, hosting regular planning, evaluation, and relationship-building meetings. 
  • Hires, train, develop, and supervise Operations summer staff team members at the camp location in partnership with the Operations Team Leader. The staff includes 1 direct report in the summer and a total of 2-3 Operations summer staff team members depending on the specific camp location. Evaluate summer performance and make recommendations for future employment with WinShape Camps.   
  • Serves as the point person for all camp store responsibilities focused on, but not limited to, vendor relationships, inventory management, equipment stewardship and training. 
  • Assists with the creation of operations budget lines related to the summer camp location and monitor expenses to insure fiscal responsibility. 
  • Prepares training materials and facilitate training sessions for Operations summer staff team members during staff training events.  
  • Serves as a member of assigned work team(s) as needed. 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience  
  • 3 – 5 years of camp experience required. 
  • This role requires gender-specific tasks during the summer that require male representatives. This includes: 
  • Ability to interact with campers within the living quarters 
  • Cabin supervision 
  • Delicate gender specific conversations with campers, staff and parents 
  • Experience in project management. 
  • Demonstrates skills in written and verbal communication, time-management, organization, and multi-tasking. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs. 
  • Willing to relocate to a WinShape Camps for Boys location in the summer.  
  • Maintain regular office hours at the WinShape Camps office in Rome during the non-camp season and engage in moderate travel throughout the year (10-20%). 
  • A self-professing Christ-follower, actively involved in a Christian faith community and actively pursuing Christ on a consistent basis. 
  • Must hold or obtain a valid driver’s license for the state in which they are hired and have an acceptable driving record.
