Role Description
We are seeking an experienced
Windows PowerShell Developer to design, develop, and maintain automation solutions for Network Attached Storage (NAS) platforms. This role focuses on automating storage operations, enhancing reliability, reducing manual effort, and integrating NAS management with enterprise IT workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop PowerShell scripts and modules to automate NAS provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance
- Automate user access, permissions, quotas, snapshots, replication, and backup operations across NAS platforms
- Integrate NAS automation with Active Directory, LDAP, and enterprise authentication systems
- Develop automation for storage health checks, capacity reporting, and performance monitoring
- Collaborate with infrastructure, storage, and operations teams to streamline daily NAS operations
- Build reusable frameworks, including logging and error-handling mechanisms, for PowerShell automation
- Integrate automation with ticketing, monitoring, and ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
- Document scripts, automation workflows, and operational runbooks
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing PowerShell scripts and automation pipelines
Primary Skills
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Windows PowerShell (advanced scripting)
- Proven experience automating NAS environments (e.g., NetApp, EMC Isilon, Dell, Hitachi, or similar)
- Solid understanding of file systems, CIFS/SMB, NFS, permissions, and storage concepts
- Experience integrating PowerShell automation with Active Directory
- Knowledge of Windows Server administration and storage management
Secondary / Preferred Skills
- Experience working with REST APIs and automation via API calls
- Familiarity with Ansible, Terraform, or other automation/orchestration tools
- Exposure to backup, replication, snapshot, and disaster recovery concepts
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace, SCOM)
- Understanding of security controls, RBAC, and compliance in storage environments
- Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix systems is a plus
