Position Summary: The ideal candidate would support district staff in using technology, including devices, software, and online application systems. The specialist will provide this support primarily through phone, in-person, and remote sessions. On-site support and training will also be required when needed.

 

District Summary

The William Penn School District is located in southeastern Delaware County and serves approximately 5,000 students residing in the Aldan, Colwyn, Darby, East Lansdowne, Lansdowne, and Yeadon Boroughs. We share a collective vision of educating, nurturing, and empowering all students to become career- and/or college-ready.

 

Key Responsibilities & Essential Duties: 

  • Serve as first-level support for technical problems throughout the District
  • Address service requests on a first-in/first-out basis unless directed otherwise by the Technology Director
  • Serve as a technical consultant for faculty and staff in the basic use of technology
  • Communicate concerns regarding device or system operability between faculty and staff and the Technology Director
  • Support and assist faculty and staff in the determination and prevention of technical issues
  • Maintain accurate technology inventory for the buildings you serve
  • Adhere to proper vendor and district software licensing agreements
  • Monitor hardware and software installations, purposes, and document future district needs
  • Prepare district devices as scheduled by the Executive Director of Blended Learning & Educational Technology
  • Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism
  • Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Technology Director
  • Possess a valid Pennsylvania driver's license at all times

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, and other Office 365 tools
  •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills required, strong organizational and problem-solving skills, proven customer service phone experience
  • An associate degree in a related field and coursework in computer-related areas relevant to the duties listed above are preferred.

  • Pennsylvania Criminal Background Check, FBI Fingerprinting Background Check, Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance
  • Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release (Act 168) forms 
  • School Personnel Health Record and TB test
