Exposure to the acquisition and financing of institutional-grade commercial real estate assets across asset classes including office, multifamily, industrial, retail, and hospitality. Interns work alongside senior analysts and associates on live transactions and portfolio analysis. Intern will work with accounting on financial reporting issued. Will utilize AI to analyze and determine whether there are possible efficiency opportunities or anomalies, etc.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain financial models for property-level, including cash-on-cash returns, IRR.
- Assist in the preparation of investment memoranda, credit packages, and loan sizing analyses for debt and equity transactions
- Support finance and accounting department overall. Intercompany debt schedules, support accounts payable and accounts receivable team.
- Assist in monitoring an existing portfolio of loans or equity investments, including covenant tracking and performance reporting
- Participate in team meetings, and other discussions to gain exposure to deal structuring and market intelligence.
- Prepare ad hoc presentations and materials, etc. related to various finance and accounting needs.
- Conduct market research and comparable analysis on property sales, rent trends, cap rates, and submarket dynamics
- For exposure go on property visits, whether through construction, leasing or property management.
- May assist in day to day needs of departments to assist in making deadlines.
Qualifications
Education
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
Technical skills
Advanced Excel modeling skills required; familiarity with AI, comfortable with learning and using various software.
Soft skills
Strong written and verbal communication; highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple workstreams
