The team you will be a part of
The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.
This role in summary
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS : Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
EXPERIENCE: 6 to 12 years
In this role, you will lead Maintenance of Business (MOB) and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects for Gladiator (Garage Organization Products) and CPG (Everydrop Filters and Affresh) brands, directly contributing to the business performance. You will also serve as the CAD Engineer for assigned GDR and CPG projects, overseeing the release and change management of knowledge documents in Windchill.
Your responsibilities will include

Apply the Whirlpool Product Development(WPD) Process, create Ideal Development Plans(IDPs), and conduct design reviews for projects.

Translate product requirements into engineering specifications and execute the technical requirements for a project, including DFMEAs, Drawing Release, Safety Audits, and DVP&Rs.

Interact with the Cross-functional team members to launch products

Work as a CAD Engineer on the assigned GDR and CPG initiatives. Closely collaborate with system integrators to ensure timely release and change management of knowledge documents in Windchill. Create EBOMs, Whirlpool part numbers, and drawings as required to support projects as CAD lead. Provide 3D CAD(Creo) support.

Partner with GTEC capabilities teams, such as literature, CAA, and SBD, to advance Virtual Product Development(VPD) in projects.

Continuously improve the CAD processes for the CGL team.

Contribute to product innovation for GDR and CPG brands.
- Work as a System Integrator and Project leader on critical initiatives, which may include Cost & Quality(C&Q), regulatory, and supplier-driven projects.
Minimum requirements
This role provides the opportunity to develop deep expertise in water filtration products for our refrigerator platform, while also enhancing your skills in consumer product development and project management.

Strong understanding of Fluid Mechanics

Technical Project Management Experience and Familiarity with Stage Gate Product Development Methodology such as WPD

Strong understanding of and familiarity with engineering tools and documentation ( PFMEA, DFMEA, DVP, requirements writing, etc. )

Experience in Creo (3D CAD Software) and Windchill (PLM Software)

Basic understanding of design for manufacturability, T-stacks, GD&T, BOM structure is a plus

Flexibility of working with Global team

OPEX/Sig Sigma Knowledge is a plus
