About WGU
WGU (Western Governors University) is a nonprofit online university on a mission: to make higher education more accessible, affordable, and effective for learners around the world. Recognized as a pioneer in competency-based education, WGU is transforming how people learn — and how lives are changed.
If you're passionate about education, design, and making a real impact, this might be your next meaningful opportunity.
The role
WGU is looking for a part-time UX Design Evaluator to review and assess student submissions in design-related degree programs. You'll be helping students grow by providing thoughtful, actionable feedback and determining mastery of key competencies.

What you'll do
Evaluate student assessments in areas like product design, UX, interaction design, and more
Provide clear, helpful, and consistent feedback to support student growth
Ensure alignment with course competencies and learning outcomes
Stay up-to-date on changes to evaluation processes
Collaborate with fellow evaluators to maintain consistency and quality
What you'll bring
Master's degree in product design, digital product design, interaction design, UX design, service design, or related fields
2–3 years of professional experience in UX or user-centered design
Solid skills with industry-standard tools (Adobe, Figma, etc.)
Strong written communication and feedback delivery skills
A passion for education and a sharp eye for detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team
Availability for a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends
