About the Department
This position performs the primary functions of a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Outpatient Clinic, in assessing, planning, and implementing patient care. Is accountable for all patients’ care he/she gives during a shift. Is responsible for adhering to supplies and equipment with the direction of the RN in charge of the unit and for promoting teamwork with physicians & staff of other departments. Has thorough knowledge of growth and development, nursing principles (relative to physical and psychosocial), procedures, skills, and techniques, and understanding of ongoing internal relationships as they relate to Licensed Practical Nursing. Venipuncture experience is required for this position. Mandatory overtime is an essential job function of this position. Applicants selected for employment must successfully complete a criminal background check and a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug screening test.
