ANNOUNCEMENT OF PROFESSIONAL VACANCY
POSITION: Itinerant School Guidance Counselor
LOCATION: Roanoke Elementary School & Leading Creek Elementary School
QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess valid West Virginia Professional Student Support in School Counseling certificate; MA in School Counseling PK - 5
DUTIES:
1. Will work with individual/groups of pupils in providing developmental, preventive, remedial guidance and counseling
2. Will provide consultant services for parents, teachers and administrators
3. Will provide leadership in the developmental guidance activities for local/state programs of study for the 5-year academic plan
4. Will assist with college or other post graduate activities for students
5. Will coordinate testing programs (PLAN, PSAT, Writing Assessment, WESTEST) for all students
6. Will coordinate referrals to community agencies – mental health, human services, etc.
7. Other duties as assigned by school administration, county level supervisor(s)
SPECIALIZED TRAINING: WVEIS – managing student records (registration, withdrawal, scheduling, grades, etc.)
SALARY: Commensurate with experience and degree level
TERM: 200 days
AVAILABLE: 2026-2027 school year
