About the Department
This is a part-time, two week exploratory program for high school students to learn from water professionals about rewarding careers in the water industry. Through this internship, participants will be able to explore career paths by working with various departments, obtain professional development through workshops, and receive certification support.
Position Duties
Duties may include, but are not limited to working alongside various departments and water professionals and assisting with general tasks.
Departments include, but are not limited to:
Water Treatment
Water Production
Water Distribution
Engineering and Construction Management
Finance and Accounting
Public Outreach and Government Affairs
Customer Service
Information Technology/GIS
Other Qualifications
Must be a high school student wo either:
- Attends a school within WVWD’s service area
- Attends a school in:
- Rialto Unified School District
- Colton Joint Unified School District
- Fontana Unified School District
- Lives in WVWD service area
Must be at least 16 years of age
Must submit a valid Student Work Permit at time of application
