West Monroe is excited to hire a Microsoft 365 Senior Consultant for our growing Enterprise Technology team! We’re looking for a technologist with keen business acumen to help solve some of our clients’ most complex problems while leveraging public cloud services, automation, Microsoft 365 solutions, and advanced Identity and Access Management (IAM) capabilities. This role will play a key part in designing secure, scalable, and Zero Trust-aligned environments across Microsoft 365 and hybrid infrastructures. Responsibilities
• Collaborate with a team of technology consultants to design, build, and implement Microsoft 365, and IT infrastructure solutions with the goal of improving client business and technical operations.
• Lead and execute Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant migrations, carveouts, and post-merger integrations, including planning, design, and hands-on delivery across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams.
• Lead project delivery and execution, including managing workstreams, mentoring junior consultants, tracking risks/issues, and ensuring high-quality outcomes.
• Perform current-state assessments and discovery for M365 environments, identity, and endpoints; define migration strategies, target architectures, and detailed runbooks for cutover and coexistence.
• Design and implement migration and integration solutions including identity alignment (Entra ID/Azure AD), domain and UPN changes, mail flow coexistence, and cross-tenant collaboration.
· Execute data and workload migrations using native and third-party tools (e.g., Exchange/SharePoint migration tooling), including pilot waves, batch scheduling, and issue remediation.
• Lead cutover activities (email, Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive), ensuring minimal business disruption, validated data integrity, and successful user transition.
• Design and implement identity and access configurations in Microsoft Entra ID (Conditional Access, MFA, SSO, identity governance) required to support secure migrations, enhance client IT operations, and ensure secure compliant environments.
• Develop and use automation (PowerShell, scripting, Infrastructure-as-Code where applicable) to accelerate migrations, standardize configurations, and improve repeatability.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (network, security, application owners, end-user compute) to manage dependencies such as endpoint readiness, application reconfiguration, and user communications.
• Present migration strategies, status updates, and risks to client stakeholders and executives; provide clear recommendations and decision frameworks.
• Support post-migration stabilization, including troubleshooting, optimization, and knowledge transfer to client teams. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience required
• Prior experience in consulting or a professional services environment preferred • 5+ years of IT experience with expertise across Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams), Defender Suite, and Enterprise Mobility + Security
• Deep expertise with Microsoft 365 security and compliance features including, data loss prevention (DLP), identity and access management using Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, Enterprise Apps, and SSO integration
• Proven experience leading M365 tenant hardening projects and interpreting "Secure Score" or CIS benchmark recommendations
• Proficiency with PowerShell for M365 administration, bulk remediation, and reporting.
• Experience with email security standards, including implementation
• Deep expertise in Identity and Access Management (IAM) within Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including Conditional Access, MFA, SSO/federation, and Zero Trust architecture
• Proven experience implementing identity governance and security controls such as Privileged Identity Management (PIM), RBAC, access reviews, and least-privilege access models
• Experience architecting hybrid identity and implementing identity threat protection, including Microsoft Entra Connect, Active Directory integration, Defender for Identity, and remediation of identity-related security risks
• Experience using scripting (PowerShell, etc.), automation, and/or Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform to deploy hybrid-cloud environments, as well as automating tasks within Microsoft 365
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex security risks to non-technical stakeholders.
• Must be based in the United States and able to work onshore with clients as needed (travel may be required).
