Purpose
The Gifted & Talented (GT) Facilitator supports general education teachers in meeting the needs of gifted learners. This includes collaborative teaching with GT cluster teachers, leading pullout and intervention groups for high-ability learners, and providing whole-class enrichment. The GT Facilitator works to enhance the intellectual, emotional, social, and psychological growth of gifted students and supports the identification and development of students with advanced abilities in academic domains, creativity, leadership, and the arts.
Performance Responsibilities
The GT Facilitator’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborating with general education and GT cluster teachers to design differentiated instructional strategies that meet the needs of gifted learners.
- Providing direct services to identified gifted students through cluster grouping and collaborative teaching, pullout service, intervention groups, and whole-class enrichment lessons.
- Supporting teachers in implementing research-based practices for gifted education, including curriculum compacting, tiered instruction, and inquiry-based learning.
- Identifying students for gifted services through formal and informal assessments, participation in the building-based MTSS team, and collaboration with colleagues across schools.
- Assisting with GT identification processes, including oversight of screening, referrals, and testing.
- Maintaining accurate records, including student attendance, progress reports, qualification data, and instructional plans.
- Providing professional development to teachers on best practices for differentiating instruction for high-ability learners.
- Consulting with parents, teachers, and administrators to develop and implement strategies for supporting gifted students.
- Serving as a resource for general education teachers and school teams by sharing materials, strategies, and instructional support for gifted and talented students.
- Coaching general education teachers in support of gifted and advanced learners.
- Upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy.
- Participating in parent-teacher conferences, professional learning communities, and district GT meetings.
- Ensuring student safety by adhering to school emergency procedures and maintaining a secure learning environment.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the principal and GT Coordinator.

Qualifications
- GT certification and/or prior experience preferred.
- Ability to design and implement differentiated instructional strategies for gifted learners.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with students, teachers, parents, and administrators.
- Knowledge of gifted education best practices, including identification methods, acceleration strategies, and social-emotional support for gifted learners.
- Proficiency in using assessment data to inform instruction and program placement.
- Ability to facilitate professional learning for educators related to gifted education.
- Must have a valid Idaho driver’s license and access to transportation for job-related activities.
