Required Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
Experience
- Experience preferred, not required
- Entry level position
Certifications
- ARRT-R (Radiography)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association
Core Responsibilities
- Operate imaging equipment safely while maintaining diagnostic quality using ALARA principles
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms and equipment per infection control standards
- Verify orders, obtain clinical history, and confirm two patient identifiers prior to exams
- Explain procedures using AIDET to reduce patient anxiety
- Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and age-appropriate care
- Perform exams and administer contrast using proper venipuncture and sterile technique
- Position patients correctly; apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated
- Review images for diagnostic quality; repeat or correct as needed
- Complete accurate documentation and finalize studies in RIS/PACS
- Monitor patient condition and respond to emergencies as required
- Organize daily workflow to meet expected timeframes
- Support department operations, compliance, stocking, transport, and escalation to leadership
