Role Overview
The Product Owner, Weighing & Dispensing (W&D), is accountable for the end-to-end lifecycle management, evolution, compliance and operational performance of Weighing & Dispensing capability across the manufacturing network.
The role owns the W&D product strategy, roadmap and supporting application landscape, ensuring compliant, reliable and efficient execution of material dispensing processes supporting manufacturing operations.
The Product Owner serves as the primary Digital partner to the Global Weighing & Dispensing Business Process Owner (BPO), ensuring digital solutions remain aligned with business requirements, regulatory expectations and operational excellence objectives.
Unlike a traditional application owner, this role is accountable for the W&D business capability regardless of the underlying technology platform. Today this includes Siemens Opcenter as the primary solution and Tulip-based W&D capabilities as part of transformation roadmap.
The Product Owner acts as the single accountable Digital owner for the W&D capability and its supporting applications, leading operational, lifecycle, enhancement and transformation activities primarily through external vendors and business stakeholders.
Product Portfolio Ownership
Siemens Opcenter Weighing & Dispensing
Current enterprise W&D platform deployed across 9 manufacturing sites.
Scope includes:
• End-to-end ownership of the Siemens Opcenter W&D product lifecycle.
• Product roadmap definition and prioritization.
• Application availability, reliability and performance.
• Change, release and lifecycle management.
• GxP compliance and validation oversight.
• Vendor management and support governance.
• Business continuity and operational performance.
• Technology currency and vendor supportability.
• Audit and inspection readiness.
The Product Owner is accountable for ensuring the platform remains stable, reliable, compliant, fully supported and fit for purpose across all operating sites.
Tulip Weighing & Dispensing Capability
As part of Client Digital Manufacturing Transformation strategy, the Product Owner will also own the W&D capability deployed on the Tulip platform.
Scope includes:
• Definition of future-state W&D requirements.
• Product ownership of Tulip-based W&D solutions.
• Alignment of W&D business processes across platforms.
• Support of deployment and rollout initiatives.
• User adoption and value realization.
• Harmonization of future-state dispensing capabilities.
The objective is to ensure a consistent and scalable W&D capability while supporting Client's long-term digital manufacturing strategy.
Strategic Transformation Responsibilities
Siemens Opcenter Separation & Takeover Program
The Product Owner will play a key strategic role in the Siemens Opcenter separation and takeover program.
The current Siemens Opcenter environment remains under a Transitional Service Agreement (TSA) with client, which expires in April 2027. The Product Owner will be responsible for defining and driving the product strategy required to establish a sustainable and independent client-owned solution.
While dedicated project resources and vendors may support specific initiatives, the Product Owner remains accountable for the overall product direction and business continuity of the platform.
Key responsibilities include:
• Defining the long-term vision for the future-state W&D landscape.
• Ensuring alignment between separation objectives and manufacturing needs.
• Prioritizing platform improvements and lifecycle investments.
• Securing sustainable support and maintenance models post-TSA.
• Driving vendor engagement and technology roadmap discussions.
• Ensuring uninterrupted manufacturing operations during the transition.
• Acting as the primary business owner of the target-state solution.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap
• Define and maintain the global W&D product strategy aligned with Digital Manufacturing vision.
• Own the multi-year roadmap for Siemens Opcenter and Tulip W&D capabilities.
• Prioritize enhancements, compliance requirements, vendor releases, lifecycle initiatives and transformation activities.
• Balance business value, operational stability, compliance requirements and cost efficiency.
Service Ownership & Operations
• Ensure stable and compliant operation of all W&D solutions.

Digital Manufacturing & Supply
• Govern incident, problem, change and release management processes.
• Monitor application performance, service levels and operational KPIs.
• Lead major incident resolution and business continuity activities.
• Ensure sustainable support models across vendors and platforms.
• Drive corrective actions for recurring operational issues.
Business Partnership
• Act as the primary Digital partner to the Global Weighing & Dispensing Business Process Owner.
• Translate business priorities into a digital product roadmap.
• Support standardization and harmonization of W&D processes across the manufacturing network.
• Ensure digital capabilities support operational excellence, compliance and manufacturing performance objectives.
• Facilitate collaboration between the BPO, sites, Quality, Validation, vendors and Digital teams.
While manufacturing sites remain key stakeholders, engagement is typically coordinated through the BPO governance model, with direct site interactions occurring when required for deployments, incidents, audits, investigations, process improvements or transformation activities.
Compliance & Validation
• Ensure all W&D platforms remain GxP compliant throughout their lifecycle.
• Maintain audit and inspection readiness.
• Support computerized system validation activities.
• Ensure adherence to data integrity, audit trail and quality requirements.
• Drive remediation activities resulting from audits, inspections, vendor findings or compliance assessments.
Vendor Management & Delivery Oversight
As the W&D product does not currently have dedicated Functional Expert or Project Manager resources, the Product Owner delivers the roadmap primarily through external vendors and implementation partners.
• Manage Siemens and other strategic partners supporting the W&D landscape.
• Prioritize enhancements, bug fixes, patches, upgrades, regulatory changes and lifecycle activities.
• Govern vendor performance, service quality and delivery commitments.
• Drive issue resolution and continuous service improvement.
• Manage support and escalation processes.
• Coordinate upgrades, validation activities and technology lifecycle initiatives.
• Ensure applications remain fully supported and aligned with vendor roadmaps.
• Oversee delivery of roadmap commitments across the W&D ecosystem.
Functional & Product Leadership
• Act as the functional authority for Weighing & Dispensing capabilities.
• Ensure business requirements are translated into product priorities and delivery plans.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the W&D landscape.
• Support evaluation of future-state capabilities and process innovations.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure and Delivery teams on major initiatives.
Required Experience
• 10+ years of experience in Manufacturing Systems, MES, Weighing & Dispensing, Manufacturing Operations or Digital Manufacturing environments.
• Proven experience managing business-critical applications in regulated industries.
• Experience working with manufacturing operations and shopfloor processes.
• Experience leading application lifecycle management and transformation initiatives.
• Experience managing software vendors and external service providers.
• Experience operating in GxP-regulated environments.
Required Functional & Technical Skills
• Strong understanding of Weighing & Dispensing business processes.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing execution and shopfloor operations.
• Experience with Siemens Opcenter W&D solutions or equivalent platforms.
• Understanding of digital manufacturing ecosystems and site operations.
• Knowledge of GxP regulations, validation and data integrity principles.
• Understanding of business interfaces and data exchanges between W&D, ERP, MES and related manufacturing systems.
