We are seeking a Founding Backend Engineer to join an innovative startup based in Gurgaon, Haryana, India. This is a unique opportunity to be a key early team member responsible for building scalable communication infrastructure that handles billions of events.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop backend systems capable of processing and orchestrating real-time messaging at scale.
- Work closely with the architecture team to build robust, high-volume communication platforms.
- Implement end-to-end decisioning, orchestration, and attribution systems for hyper-personalized messaging across multiple channels including WhatsApp, email, SMS, and app push notifications.
- Contribute to the technical direction and infrastructure of the platform as a founding engineer.
Requirements:
- 4 to 6 years of experience in backend engineering.
- Proven experience building communication infrastructure or systems that handle high volumes of events (billions, not just millions).
- Strong proficiency with Node.js and related backend technologies.
- Experience with frameworks such as Next.js and FastAPI is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment.
Location: Gurgaon, Haryana, India
Salary: 40 - 90 LPA, flexible for the right candidate.
