Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Math Teacher to join our team at Webster County Middle School. The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment, inspire students to develop a love for mathematics, and help them build a strong foundation in mathematical concepts. This full-time position requires a commitment to academic excellence, innovative teaching strategies, and collaboration with colleagues and parents to support student success.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum guidelines.
- Teach a variety of math subjects, including but not limited to algebra, geometry, and statistics, to middle school students.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through tests, quizzes, and projects, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including those with special educational needs.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration among students.
- Utilize technology and educational tools to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to integrate math concepts across the curriculum.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and advancements in mathematics education.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and academic concerns.
- Contribute to the school community through involvement in extracurricular activities, committees, and school events.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification for middle school mathematics in the state of Kentucky.
- Strong knowledge of middle school mathematics curriculum and instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to create a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Commitment to continuous professional growth and development in the field of education.
- Previous teaching experience is preferred but not mandatory.
