Job Title: WebSphere Commerce Developer

Location: 100% Remote

Work Hours: Must be comfortable working US Central Time(6.30PM IST to 3.30AM IST)

Job Summary

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled HCL Commerce (formerly IBM WebSphere Commerce) Developer with 7-10 years of experience in designing, implementing, and customizing enterprise eCommerce solutions. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in HCL Commerce architecture, development frameworks, and integrations, with hands-on experience delivering scalable and high-performance commerce solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement solutions on HCL Commerce (v7/v8/v9) platform
• Customize out-of-the-box (OOTB) features including catalog, order, member, and marketing components
• Develop and extend REST APIs, controllers, commands, and services
• Work on storefront customization (Aurora / React-based storefront in v9)
• Implement business logic using Java/J2EE, JSP, Servlets, and Spring framework
• Customize and extend data models, access beans, and database schemas
• Integrate HCL Commerce with third-party systems such as payment gateways, OMS, ERP, CRM
• Optimize performance, caching (Dynacache), and search (Solr)
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and architecture decisions
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide L2/L3 support
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including UI, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders
• Ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and security guidelines

Required Skills:

Core Technical Skills:

• Strong experience in HCL Commerce / IBM WebSphere Commerce
• Expertise in:
• Java, J2EE (Servlets, JSP, EJB)
• Spring Framework
• REST/SOAP Web Services
• Deep understanding of:
• HCL Commerce architecture (Monolith & Microservices in v9)
• Controller commands, task commands, data beans, access beans
• Commerce subsystems (Catalog, Order, Member, Marketing)

Frontend & Storefront:

• Experience with:
• Aurora Store (v7/v8)
• React-based storefront (v9 preferred)
• HTML, CSS, JavaScript

Search & Performance:

• Hands-on with Solr search customization
• Caching strategies (Dynacache)
• Performance tuning and optimization

Database:

• Strong SQL skills (DB2 / Oracle preferred)

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with HCL Commerce v9 (containerized architecture, Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure)
• Exposure to headless commerce architecture
• Experience with GraphQL APIs
• Knowledge of security practices in eCommerce

Experience:

• 6–10 years of total IT experience
• Minimum 4+ years in HCL Commerce / WebSphere Commerce
