Position: Web Development Manager

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Web Development Manager to lead the architecture, design, and delivery of modern, scalable, and secure web applications. This role combines technical leadership, people management, and cross-functional delivery ownership within the healthcare data and life sciences domain.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical & Engineering Leadership: Drive architecture and design decisions for scalable frontend and backend solutions; establish coding standards, conduct code reviews, and address technical debt and performance bottlenecks.
- Application Development: Guide development of responsive UIs using React.js / TypeScript and backend microservices using Node.js, Python, or FastAPI.
- People Management: Mentor, coach, and manage a high-performing engineering team; support recruitment, career development, and workload distribution.
- Agile Delivery & Collaboration: Partner with Product, UX, QA, DevOps, and Platform teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions while managing sprint planning and delivery risks.
- DevOps, Security & Quality: Promote CI/CD pipeline automation, containerized deployments, cloud-native architectures, OWASP secure coding practices, and automated testing.
Qualifications & Tech Stack
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/CS with ~8 years of software development experience, including engineering team leadership.
- Frontend: React.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, Responsive Web Design.
- Backend & APIs: Node.js, Python (FastAPI or equivalent), RESTful APIs, Microservices architecture.
- Database & Cloud: PostgreSQL / SQL, AWS or Azure, Docker, Kubernetes.
- Tools & Practices: Git, CI/CD (GitLab CI/CD / Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions), Automated Testing (Jest, Playwright, Cypress), Agile/Scrum methodologies
