About the Job
We are looking for a Web Developer to manage, update, and build our business websites. We run a few B2B websites built on custom PHP, Shopify, and WordPress.
Our websites are straightforward—we do not have user logins, customer accounts, or online payments. The main goal of our websites is to share our product info and get business inquiries through contact forms.
Please note that a few of our major websites are built completely on custom PHP. We shifted our main sites to PHP because WordPress updates, themes, and plugins create too many technical problems for us. Therefore, we need a developer who has a solid, medium-level understanding of PHP to manage these sites properly.
You should also be comfortable building new websites from scratch when we want to revamp them, and you will work closely with our SEO team to keep our sites optimized.
What you will do day-to-day:
* Maintain and update our core custom PHP websites, as well as our Shopify and WordPress pages.
* Build new B2B websites or revamp our existing ones from scratch when required.
* Work hand-in-hand with our SEO team to implement technical changes like improving page speed, fixing URL structures, and updating tags.
* Create and update clean landing pages to help us get more business inquiries.
* Build and test contact forms, making sure they correctly email all customer details to our sales team without any technical errors.
* Fix layout bugs, broken text, or alignment issues so the website looks great on both mobile phones and desktops.
What we are looking for:
Experience: 2 to 3 years of actual experience managing, revamping, and building websites.
PHP Knowledge: Medium-level understanding of PHP. You must know how PHP websites function, how to handle form data, and how to work with custom PHP code without relying heavily on CMS plugins.
Core Skills: Good practical knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Platforms: Strong comfort level making changes and building sites inside Shopify and WordPress.
SEO Collaboration: Ability to understand SEO requirements and work smoothly with an SEO team to implement changes.
Work Style: A problem solver who can take a website project from planning to final launch, and who always tests their own code before making it live.
