Role Description The Industrial Automation Service Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Kolkata Area. This role involves installing, commissioning, and servicing industrial automation and embedded systems at client locations, including PLCs, drives, sensors, control panels, and IoT modules. The engineer will troubleshoot hardware and software issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure minimal downtime for customer operations. Daily responsibilities include conducting site visits, diagnosing system faults, calibrating instruments, updating firmware or configurations, and documenting work performed. The role also requires collaborating with the design and development team, supporting customers with technical guidance and training, and maintaining clear, professional communication with stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of industrial automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, motor drives, sensors, and control panels.
- Experience with embedded systems and IoT technologies, such as microcontrollers, communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, MQTT), and industrial networking.
- Skills in fault diagnosis, hardware and software troubleshooting, maintenance, and calibration of industrial equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Relevant technical degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
- Comfort with on-site field work, including travel within the Greater Kolkata Area and working in industrial environments.
- Effective communication, customer service orientation, and ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, manage time well, and collaborate within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Familiarity with safety standards, safe working practices, and compliance in industrial settings.
- Prior experience in industrial automation service or field engineering is highly beneficial.
