Role Description The Wave Solder Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based in Hyderabad. The technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring wave solder machines for PCB assembly, ensuring proper solder flow, temperature profiles, and conveyor speed according to process specifications. Day-to-day tasks include preparing assemblies for soldering, loading boards, adjusting machine parameters, performing routine equipment checks, and identifying and correcting soldering defects such as bridges and insufficient solder. The role also involves performing basic preventive maintenance, documenting process parameters, following safety and ESD guidelines, and collaborating with production, quality, and engineering teams to maintain high yield and product quality.
Qualifications
- Experience in PCB assembly processes, including wave soldering, component handling, and PCB inspection.
- Ability to set up and operate wave solder machines, adjust process parameters, and interpret work instructions and assembly drawings.
- Knowledge of soldering standards (such as IPC guidelines), flux types, solder alloys, and common soldering defects and their root causes.
- Familiarity with basic test and measurement tools (e.g., thermocouples, gauges, magnifiers) and documentation of process data.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and ESD control, with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and manage shift-based work if required.
- Prior experience in electronics manufacturing or EMS environments is preferred; vocational training or diploma in electronics or related field is an advantage.
- Willingness to learn, adapt to new processes and technologies, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
