About the role

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This role involves being seconded at WAU HOLDINGS, where you’ll assist our engineering team with key aspects of rocket engine / suborbital rocket development, including design analysis, simulation, and testing. You will conduct technical research, support performance assessments, and participate in prototype assembly and test firing. You’ll also help with technical reports and collaborate on problem-solving in propulsion system optimization. This position provides hands-on experience with innovative rocket technologies, offering valuable exposure to the space industry.


KEY REQUIREMENTS:

ACADEMIC: Undergraduate student (preferably 2nd year onwards) with minimum 2:1 classification

EXPERIENCE: Demonstrated interest or prior attachment in Aerospace, Avionic, Mechanical, Rocketry or related fields.

SKILLS (IT): Proficient in Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides etc), Slack & Zoom

SKILLS (OTHER): Proficient in design and simulation software: ANSYS, AUTOCAD, CATIA, ONSHAPE, MATLAB & SOLIDWORKS

LANGUAGES (VERBAL & WRITTEN): Fluent in English.


KEY DETAILS:

POSITION: Short-term full-time or Year-long part time (minimum 10 hours commitment per week)

MEETINGS: Once a week lasting 30 - 60 mins, Mon - Sat between 0700 - 1700 UK time

WORK SETTING: Remote-based

COMPENSATION: Unpaid, but exceptional performance may lead to a return offer
