About the role

Our understanding of books and the people who love reading them sets a Waterstones Bookseller apart. We seek intelligent, lively people, keen to learn about books and the books industry; you will want to share your reading discoveries and eager to support our wider commercial ambitions. Your background, age and education will offer no barrier toward our aim of employing the very best in the industry. Being a Waterstones Bookseller is to embrace our entire range, from our books through to our hugely successful games and gifts. It is a highly proactive role, far beyond watching our customers simply enter and browse. We are booksellers, ambassadors to the page, always ready to chat, recommend and sell. Our Café Ws are unique in the hospitality industry: fully integrated with our vibrant bookshops, no other high street food and beverage option can offer our combination of atmosphere, location and quality product. Just like our booksellers, in our baristas we are looking for bright, creative people who understand that a coffee is far more than just a drink - with our cafés tailored to their local market, our exciting Union Coffee rollout and food offers tied in with the books we sell, we think our Café Ws are growing into something quite special.
