Water Resources Engineering
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Technical Specialist in Water Resources Engineering to support the planning, analysis, and design of stormwater and municipal infrastructure projects. The role focuses on hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, stormwater management design, drainage assessments, culvert and sewer capacity evaluations, and preparation of engineering reports and drawings. The candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver technically sound and regulatory-compliant solutions using industry-standard engineering software and design practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for stormwater systems and drainage infrastructure
- Prepare stormwater management designs
- Conduct culvert capacity assessments and floodplain/drainage evaluations
- Support storm sewer and watermain design for municipal and land development projects
- Assist in the preparation of engineering reports, technical memos, calculations, and supporting documentation
- Use engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, EPANET, and Excel for modeling and design tasks
- Interpret engineering drawings, survey information, specifications, and applicable design standards
- Coordinate with internal teams, clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies
- Ensure designs comply with municipal guidelines, provincial standards, and environmental regulations
- Review and revise designs based on project requirements and technical feedback
- Support field investigations, site reviews, and data collection activities as required

- Qualifications
- Mater's degree in Water Resources Engineering or related discipline
- Strong academic and technical background in hydrology and hydraulics
- 0–2 years of experience in water resources engineering, municipal infrastructure, or land development projects
- Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software such as PCSWMM and HEC-RAS
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is considered an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for engineering calculations and data analysis
- Knowledge of stormwater management principles, drainage design, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, survey data, and technical specifications
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
