Your New Role…
The WBD Director of Master Data Management, Credit Risk Monitoring and Governance is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing global customer and vendor master data processes, including creation, onboarding, governance, and credit risk management. This role ensures data integrity, compliance, and operational efficiency across all financial transactions and supports business growth through scalable and secure data practices. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in master data strategy, cross-functional collaboration, and media industry operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Master Data Strategy & Governance
- Own the global strategy for customer and vendor master data across WBD business units.
- Develop and enforce data governance policies, standards, and controls to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
- Lead initiatives to improve data quality, reduce duplication, and enhance system integration across ERP and finance platforms.
Customer & Vendor Lifecycle Management
- Oversee end-to-end processes for customer and vendor creation, onboarding, maintenance, and deactivation.
- Ensure timely and compliant onboarding of new partners, including validation of tax, legal, and financial documentation.
- Collaborate with Legal, Procurement, Sales, and Production teams to streamline workflows and enhance partner experience.
Credit Risk Management
- Lead global credit risk assessment and monitoring for new and existing customers.
- Establish and maintain credit policies, scoring models, and approval workflows.
- Partner with Treasury and Collections teams to mitigate risk and support cash flow optimization.
Operational Excellence
- Monitor and report on key data quality metrics, SLA performance, and compliance indicators.
- Drive automation and process improvements using data management tools and technologies.
- Support audits and regulatory reviews by ensuring robust documentation and traceability.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for master data-related inquiries and escalations across global business units.
- Partner with IT, Finance, and Business Operations to align data architecture with strategic goals.
- Lead cross-functional working groups to address data challenges and implement best practices.
Team Leadership
- Build and lead a global team of data stewards, analysts, and governance specialists.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Provide coaching, performance management, and career development support.
Qualifications & Experience…
- 10+ years of experience in Master Data Management, Finance Operations, or Data Governance, preferably within media, entertainment, or technology sectors.
- Proven leadership in global customer/vendor data processes and credit risk management.
- Strong understanding of ERP systems (APEX, SAP, Oracle, Workday), MDM platforms, and data governance frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Data Management, or related field; advanced degree or certification (e.g., CDMP, CPA) preferred.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to execution.
- Passion for data integrity, compliance, and operational excellence.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed global organization.
