Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor
Department: Logistics and Inventory Management
Reports To: Warehouse Manager
Job Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse in a corporate tiles company. This includes managing inventory, coordinating with logistics, supervising warehouse staff, and ensuring efficient storage and dispatch of tile products. The role requires maintaining a high level of organization and safety to meet company standards and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Warehouse Operations Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring smooth and efficient workflows.
- Supervise the receiving, storing, picking, and dispatching of tiles and related products.
- Monitor the layout of the warehouse to optimize space utilization and ensure proper organization of inventory.
- Inventory Control
- Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular cycle counts, and assist with monthly or annual physical inventory audits.
- Monitor stock levels to ensure sufficient inventory is available and prevent shortages or excesses.
- Coordinate with the purchasing department to reorder stock as needed and ensure timely replenishment.
- Staff Supervision and Training
- Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of warehouse staff, including loaders, packers, and forklift operators.
- Assign tasks and monitor performance to ensure productivity and adherence to company policies.
- Provide training to staff on proper handling of tile products, safety protocols, and equipment usage.
- Quality Control and Safety Compliance
- Inspect incoming shipments for quality and accuracy, ensuring products meet company standards.
- Oversee the quality control of tile products before dispatch to minimize damage and customer complaints.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all warehouse personnel.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and report any hazards or incidents promptly.
- Order Fulfillment and Dispatch
- Coordinate with the sales and logistics teams to prioritize and fulfill customer orders accurately and on time.
- Prepare shipping documents, such as invoices, packing lists, and delivery notes.
- Ensure that all tile products are securely packed and loaded to minimize the risk of damage during transit.
- Equipment and Facility Maintenance
- Monitor and maintain warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Schedule regular maintenance and report any equipment malfunctions or repairs needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, ensuring all areas are free of debris and obstacles.
- Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare and submit regular reports on inventory status, order fulfillment, and warehouse performance metrics.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory movements, including incoming shipments and outgoing dispatches.
- Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager to implement improvements in warehouse processes and procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in warehouse supervision.
- Experience with inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, ERP) and barcode scanning technology is a plus.
