Job Summary
The Scale House / Roll-Off Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing daily scale house and roll-off operations, including team leadership, dispatching, customer service, safety compliance, reporting, and administrative functions to ensure efficient, compliant, and customer-focused operations. Core work hours: 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday. Longer hours may be needed to cover attendance gaps. Scale house is open from 6:00am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday. Some Saturdays (6) will be needed when holidays fall during the week.
This position is Safety Sensitive. It requires drug and alcohol testing in compliance with 49 CFR part 382, this includes marijuana. This position also requires an active DOT health card. To get a DOT health card, candidates must have a valid Minnesota Driver's License.
Primary Job Duties
Lead, manage, and hold accountable part time scale attendants and roll-off drivers.
Perform regularly scheduled check-ins with team members.
Dispatch Roll-off. Including routing jobs for next day, fielding calls from drivers, contacting customers when needed and ensuring all required containers are emptied onsite.
Frequently interact with customers for drop off items and take credit cards payments, check loads and ensure the safety of the customer and other employees through observation of safety rules and regulations.
Assist with operational efficiencies and customer service at public drop site.
Identify, research, and resolve customer issues using computer systems.
Ensure full or partially full roll-off boxes at both transfer station and main office are emptied in a timely manner, avoiding overflow.
Audit monthly disposal tickets.
Perform quarterly and annual reporting of tonnage to cities and counties.
File disposal tonnage to MPCA via Retrac filing software.
Scale trucks in and out.
Manage Scale software database. This includes but is not limited to opening customer accounts, adding new trucks, routes, and update pricing when directed.
Coordinate disposal of electronic products (batteries, cell phones, etc.)
Direct customers to correct drop off locations.
Adhere to all SOP’s and permit requirements to insure 100% compliance
All Managers and Supervisors are responsible for ensuring that team members complete their onboarding and training, allocating sufficient time for all scheduled training to be completed. This includes following all onboarding steps, supporting employees in completing assigned training, and collaborating with the Training Department. Managers and Supervisors must also be available and willing to provide key information and contribute to continuous improvement, ensuring training remains up to date with Walters' standard operating procedures and meets all regulatory compliance requirements and company policies.

Education and Experience
HS Diploma/GED
1+ year of relevant experience in customer service or operations, waste industry experience preferred
1+ year of working in an office setting
1+ year of supervising experience
Computer literacy & the ability to quickly learn new programs (MS Office, Routeware, Tower, Scale, UKG, and other software)
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment, servicing customers using technology without getting flustered
Experience working in a safety sensitive environment preferred
Physical Requirements:
· Work is performed in a climate-controlled company. Employees operate standard office equipment including telephone, headset, computer, computer monitors, keyboard, mouse, and copier/scanner. Physical tasks of job include walking, sitting, standing, and bending.
· Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and DOT health evaluation.
