JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases in Development, Test, UAT, and Production environments.
• Perform database upgrades, patching, and migrations with minimal downtime.
• Manage High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) solutions including:
• Always On Availability Groups
• Failover Clustering
• Log Shipping
• Replication
• Design and manage backup and recovery strategies, including regular restore testing.
• Monitor and optimize database performance through:
• Query optimization and execution plan analysis
• Index management
• Performance monitoring and tuning
• Handle database security and compliance:
• User and role management
• Permissions and access control
• Encryption (TDE) and auditing
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents and performance issues within SLA.
• Support 24x7 production environments, including on-call support as required.
• Automate routine DBA tasks using T-SQL, SQL Agent Jobs, and PowerShell.
• Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and support teams for smooth operations.
• Maintain operational documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base.

Technical Skills Required

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2014/2016/2017/2019/2022).
• Expertise in T-SQL, indexing strategies, and performance tuning.
• Solid understanding of SQL Server architecture and internals.
• Experience with Windows OS, storage, and basic networking concepts.
• Exposure to Cloud databases (Azure SQL Database / Managed Instance) is a plus.
• Experience with database monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
