Position: Carpenter Helper
Travel: some travel within MD and PA
Pay Range: $18-22; Based on experience
We are currently seeking a Shop Helper to join our Wagman Heavy Civil, Inc. team. Reporting to field supervision, the Shop Carpenter Helper is responsible for assisting the foreman and project team with various manual tasks on construction projects to include but not limited to site preparation, material handling and assisting crew members with carpentry related tasks. This position works along the entire Project Team to support the completion of assigned construction projects and helps ensure all plans move forward to meet projected deadlines.
This is a safety sensitive position requiring work on construction sites with various safety hazards inherent in heavy construction.
This position is subject to drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.

Qualifications:
· Minimum of one (1) years of experience in construction, preferably carpentry and woodwork
· Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented
P Preferred enrollment in an apprenticeship program for carpentry, or willingness to enroll
Essential Functions
Perform clean up and staging of materials as directed by supervisor
Must be able to load and unload materials, tools, and equipment at job sites
Travel within a 75-mile radius of York, PA
Able to operate jackhammers, concrete buggies, demolition saw, and small tools associated with completing tasks
Physical Requirements of the Essential Functions
· Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds from ground level to waist level.
· Must be able to bend, squat, and kneel occasionally throughout a scheduled work shift.
· Must be able to climb ladders.
· Continuous standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift.
· Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands.
· Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather.
· Acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing required.
