Wabash Valley Goodwill is looking for a motivated and dependable Afternoon Production Supervisor to lead our production team and help turn donated goods into opportunities that change lives.

Position Summary
The Production Supervisor oversees afternoon production operations, ensuring donations are processed efficiently while maintaining a safe, organized, and productive environment.
This role provides daily leadership and guidance to production team members, helping them understand expectations, develop their skills, and succeed in their roles. The supervisor ensures donations are properly sorted, processed, and prepared for the sales floor to support store goals and maximize the value of donated goods.
Working closely with store leadership and other departments, the Production Supervisor helps create a positive workplace culture focused on teamwork, productivity, and mission impact.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development

Supervise and support Production Team Leads, Production Team Members, and volunteers

Train, mentor, and guide team members to ensure understanding of job duties and expectations

Provide constructive feedback and support professional development

Foster a supportive, respectful, and inclusive work environment

Serve as a role model by demonstrating strong work ethic and adherence to company policies
Production Operations

Oversee the sorting, processing, pricing, and preparation of donated goods

Ensure production processes run efficiently to meet store sales and inventory goals

Maintain an organized workflow for donation processing

Collaborate with leadership and team members to improve production efficiency
Customer & Donor Experience

Provide excellent service to customers and donors

Assist customers with questions and locating products

Greet donors warmly and thank them for supporting Goodwill’s mission

Help ensure every customer interaction is positive and welcoming
Safety & Store Operations

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production and sales floor
-
Follow and enforce safety guidelines
-
Monitor store security and ensure merchandise is properly handled

Assist with store opening and closing procedures as needed
Team Collaboration

Work closely with supervisors and team members to achieve store goals

Participate in training and development opportunities

Support positive communication and teamwork across departments
Education & Experience
-
High School Diploma or GED preferred
(or willingness to obtain a diploma through The Excel Center of West Central Indiana)

Leadership or supervisory experience preferred but not required

Basic computer skills required

Ability to perform basic math including rate, ratio, and percent
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds

Ability to stand and move for extended periods

Ability to lift items above shoulder level

Ability to communicate effectively with team members, donors, and customers

Ability to use hands and arms for sorting, lifting, and processing merchandise
Work Environment
This position works in a retail production environment where employees may be exposed to dust, mold, pet dander, or other airborne particles from donated goods. The employee may occasionally work around moving mechanical parts. The typical noise level is moderate.
