Now Hiring: Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA)
Wabash Center is seeking dedicated Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to provide high-quality, hands-on care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a home and community-based setting.
This role is ideal for CNAs with experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, assisted living, or home health who are looking for a meaningful, patient-focused career.
Designated Home & Certification Requirement
• This position is assigned to specific designated residential homes that require CNA-level training and certification
• CNAs must be scheduled and working within these designated homes for CNA-level responsibilities to apply
• Compensation rates associated with the CNA role apply only when working in an assigned designated home requiring CNA certification
• Work performed outside of these designated homes may be assigned different duties and compensation structures in accordance with organizational policies
Flexible Schedule Options (CNA Flex Model)
This CNA role offers a unique, flexible scheduling structure similar to DSP roles:
• Weekday Hours: Flexible scheduling
• Weekend Options (12-hour shifts):
o Work 12-hour shifts both Saturday & Sunday
o OR work 12-hour shifts every Saturday
o OR work 12-hour shifts every Sunday
Flexible scheduling options are available (Full-Time, Part-Time) while maintaining consistent weekend coverage.
CNA Responsibilities
• Provide direct patient care, including bathing, grooming, toileting, and feeding
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning
• Monitor and record vital signs and changes in condition
• Support individuals in accordance with care plans and Person-Centered Individualized Support Plans (PCISP)
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting
• Ensure a clean, safe, and supportive care environment
• Collaborate with nurses, supervisors, and care teams
Standards & Compliance
• Follow all patient care protocols, infection control, and safety procedures
• Report and prevent Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation (ANE) per state and agency requirements
• Support implementation of behavioral and health care plans to improve outcomes
• Complete required training and maintain certifications, including MedCore if applicable
Required Qualifications
• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (Indiana)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in:
o Skilled nursing facility (SNF)
o Long-term care
o Assisted living
o Home health care
• Strong skills in patient care, observation, and documentation
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with developmental disabilities or behavioral health
• Knowledge of person-centered care practices
• CPR/First Aid certification
