Job Summary:
The Burpee Marketing Copywriter is a creative writer who loves gardening as much as we do, and knows how to talk about seeds, plants and supplies in a way that feels inspiring, trustworthy, memorable and easy to understand. This role will help create our brand voice everywhere our customers see us—our website, emails, catalogs, social media, packaging, and in stores. You’ll turn product details and growing advice into copy that reads the way a friendly, knowledgeable neighbor would talk—helping gardeners of all levels feel confident and excited to get in the garden.

300 Park Ave, Warminster PA. 100% Onsite. Monday - Friday 8am-5pm.
Essential Duties:
Product & Campaign Content
- Write all website copy including content blocks, category pages and detailed product descriptions
- Create email content that people will want to read (about 5–6 emails each week)
- Bring our catalogs to life with words (up to 3 each year)
- Provide editing and proofing for digital ads
- Support other initiatives including sale promotions, seasonal campaigns, product launches and company events
- Proof all work for clarity, accuracy, and consistency before it goes live
Social & Content
- Write posts for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok that feel natural—not forced
- Help create or refine online gardening guides and how-to content
Improving Performance
- Keep our voice consistent wherever we show up
- Pay attention to what’s working—and what’s not—and adjust accordingly
- Write with search in mind so people can find what they’re looking for (SEO)
- Test different subject lines, headlines, calls-to-action, and messaging
- Keep our writing guidelines up to date and useful
Working with the Team
- Partner with marketing, product and retail teams to meet objectives outlined in project briefs
- Collaborate with horticulturists and customer service to make content helpful and accurate
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of copywriting experience in gardening, home, food, or similar categories
- A strong writer who also gardens—and understands what gardeners need
- A portfolio that shows clear, engaging writing (e-commerce, retail, or consumer brands is ideal)
- Comfortable working from a brief or starting with a blank page
- Able to balance creativity with performance goals
- Strong editing skills and attention to detail
- Familiar with SEO basics
