We're looking for a VFX Artist (Remote / Part-Time) to help us create the future of live anime entertainment — working alongside industry-renowned animators and independent content creators. What We Offer Fully remote, flexible schedule Opportunities to work on cutting-edge anime-inspired VFX for high-profile creators and live experiences A creative, collaborative team focused on stylized and NPR workflows Paid, long-term opportunities for growth in a growing, innovative team Responsibilities Design and create anime-inspired stylized VFX for 3D characters, environments, and live content (e.g., magic spells, elemental attacks, energy bursts, transformation sequences) Develop NPR-friendly VFX that blend 2D and 3D visual effects to match anime aesthetics Build and optimize real-time VFX using Unity URP (Universal Render Pipeline) Create and manage custom shaders, materials, and FX pipelines using Shader Graph Design complex effects using Unity Visual Effect Graph and Shuriken (legacy particle system when needed) Collaborate closely with rigging, animation, and shader teams to integrate VFX seamlessly with characters and performances Implement interactive and event-driven VFX using Unity C# scripting for real-time gameplay and live avatar performances Ensure VFX align with anime, manga, and otaku culture visual standards Skills & Requirements Requirements Strong portfolio showcasing anime-style or NPR-stylized VFX (magic, elemental, combat, environment) Proficiency with Unity URP and real-time particle systems (Visual Effect Graph, Shuriken) Skilled in Shader Graph and creating custom shaders for stylized NPR effects Experience with 2D/3D hybrid visual effects, including hand-drawn elements integrated into real-time VFX Understanding of anime VFX timing, motion, and stylization principles (e.g., smears, speed lines, impact frames) Unity C# scripting experience sufficient to trigger, control, and manage VFX at runtime (e.g., event-driven FX, animation events, simple custom behaviors) Self-motivated and collaborative, able to work efficiently in a remote team Must have 3-5 years professional experience creating Games, Anime, or other Entertainment related fields Bonus / Nice-to-Have Experience with VRChat, ChilloutVR, or other avatar-based platforms Familiarity with VFX for live avatars and real-time performances/streaming Knowledge of shader-rig interaction, including control masks and normal modifications for NPR shading (outlines, dynamic shadows) Advanced shader and VFX scripting for procedural and interactive effects Previous work in anime game development or virtual content creation
