Our client, a leading global financial services firm with a strong presence across investment banking, asset management, wealth management, and hedge funds, is seeking an experienced Vice President – Risk Data Lead.
The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in risk data governance, data sourcing, and data lineage, coupled with a strong background in credit risk or market risk within a global financial services organization.
The role involves leading risk data initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving strategic improvements in risk data management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor the risk data team, overseeing data sourcing, data lineage, data governance, data ownership, and data cataloguing.
- Establish and implement robust processes for the ongoing maintenance, review, and control of prioritized risk data.
- Ensure adherence to BCBS 239 principles and applicable regulatory requirements for risk data aggregation and reporting.
- Review, develop, and implement data policies, standards, and governance frameworks.
- Drive strategic risk data initiatives and collaborate with global stakeholders to strengthen the organization's risk data management capabilities.
- Identify opportunities to enhance data quality, accuracy, consistency, and operational efficiency through continuous process improvement.
- Promote accountability for risk data ownership and ensure effective governance across business and functional teams.
Key Requirements:
- Strong academic background in Finance, Analytics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- 12+ years of relevant experience in risk data management, with a strong focus on data governance, data lineage, and data sourcing.
- Hands-on experience implementing and managing regulatory requirements aligned with BCBS 239.
- Solid understanding of credit risk or market risk within a global financial services environment.
- Proven leadership experience, including team management, mentoring, and stakeholder engagement across global teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
